This is the final update. It's been a fun semester and I've
really enjoyed improving my creative potential in web design and
development. I've updated the client site to include links to
both Blogger and Google calendars. When I was planning the site
a few months ago, the client said she wanted a way to manage
calendar events and deadlines. Google calendar is a perfect tool
to do it, but I could not embed the calendar without the embed
code that has to come from her Google account. The blogger link
is there because she said she wanted a way to post assignment
details and information. That was the best way I could think of
without going into server-side scripting languages such as ASP
and PHP.
Anyway, I've been trying to add information on this site with
little to no provided information. I've been trying to contact
the instructor only to get blown off or an answering machine. So
before you say anything, I've been making an honest effort and I
tried the best I could. The information currently on the site is
part my input, and part information I went searching for.
Once again, this is the final update. I really enjoyed this
class. I really enjoyed experimenting with Microsoft Expression.
I really enjoyed going through the development process (except
this last part). Lastly, I wish any viewers who have been
visiting on a regular basis the best. Hopefully, the future will
allow me to create similar works.

So time's just about up, but I'm not done yet. The Client
Site still remains incomplete, but that doesn't mean it's not
being worked on. I've updated it with a toggle div script just
like this page has. I've included information introducing the
viewer as to what political science. This information has been
hard to obtain since my client has continually been blowing me
off for the last two weeks. I do hope that it is accurate. In
other news, the playlist on the about page has been replaced
with my profile cards for both Last.fm and Zune Social. I hope
you enjoy the new updated content. I'm almost done and I hope to
be complete soon.

I know that the time in which all comes to an end is fast
approaching because I'm almost done with my Client-Side scripting
page. As of right now all of the links leading from this page are
now functional. My main concentration is in finishing the Skill
Drills and Challenges for chapter 13 in Client-Side (the chapter
work is already complete) and working on my Client Site for Web
Design II...
I'm currently waiting from a response from my client. I've sent
multiple emails flagged with high priority, I've got the phone
number, and I'll make the call later today. At this point I really
want to get this done!

Chapters 1-10 are now complete in the Client-Side scripting
pane. The Client Site is now active. Be aware that the Client
Site is just a working prototype. The links in the Client Site
lead to nowhere. It just exists so that my client can sample it.
Anyway, that concludes today's update. Thanks for checking in
again.

In the past I've had some help from a good friend of mine who
does website development for a living and over the course I've
learned a few tricks with website coding. What I'm about display
are a few tools that I find worth while for testing and
debugging any website project.
-
IE Tester-A tool that allows you to view HTML files in
Internet Explorer Versions 5.5, 6, 7, and the new 8.
-
Web Developer (Firefox addon)-An addon that allows you
to modify web pages on the fly within Mozilla's Firefox
browser.
-
Dreamspark-A free professional software distribution by
Microsoft meant specifically for students. This website
allows you to obtain free licenses of Microsoft Visual
Studio, Expression Studio, Windows Server, and a lot more...

My latest development on this page are the toggle div
containers that you see. The font for the titles of each post
has been changed because I'm managing the toggle divs with an
anchor, an event handler, and an external script file.
The only problem with the collapsible div containers is that if
you collapse all of the div containers, it really messes with
the style settings I've implemented in this site. The
client-side scripting pane ends up overflowing into the footer
div (I don't know why, but it does).

The Time Stamps at the bottom of each page have been modified
to use JavaScript to determine the date and time of the last
update. This update allows the page to be more flexible and
easier to modify than using the previous hard coded entry method
that I was using before. The Time Stamps on the posts will
remain hardcoded on the other hand. I have not yet figured out
how to use the document.lastmodified property to create
a timestamp for the posts.
Chapters 1-9 are now 100% complete. All related Skill Drills and
Challenges have been posted. I'm now diverting my attention to
the client site. I hope to have another update posted by the end
of this weekend.

The chapter links for chapters 1-9 are now active. I still
have to complete the skill drills and challenges before I can
say that I am truly done with my work in ITP140 (for the moment
anyways).
I'm starting to write the source code for the Client website,
though the site probably won't be up until this weekend.
The About link in the navigation bar is now active. I'm using
the About page to introduce myself properly and describe some of
the activities I'm involved in.
In other news, Microsoft has released Internet Explorer 8 to the
public. Internet Explorer has some added features that I've been
playing around with. For those of you viewing this page on
Internet Explorer 7 and below, I apologize if this site does
look a little off, I'm currently working on style sheets that
will make the website look consistent across all browsers, but
the problem is that such tasks take an extreme amount of
patience and time.
Expect more updates in the future. I expect the Image gallery to
be up sometime soon. I'll also be working on scripts to make
some of the post clutter reduced. I noticed that the page does
appear sluggish in most browsers. It is probably due to having
the background image at a 1920X1080 resolution.

This weekend I've been working on a major facelift for this
site. The most noticeable change is probably the new aesthetic
style. The style was inspired by the new Windows 7 look that
Microsoft is currently trying to promote. All of the graphics
that are hosted on this site have been produced by me. This new
update is the first of many to come.
As of now, ITP 140 chapters 1-7 have been posted. I'm also
pleased to announce that I earned a 92 percent on last week's
midterm. The client site should be underway soon enough.
For the moment, JavaScript has been removed from the personal
pages that share the same template. I may put it back in, but it
really depends on the difficulty in the elements. I intend to
have hide-able posts to reduce the bloated-ness of the site once
more updates are posted.
Anyway this concludes this week's update. I hope you enjoy the
new look and tune in for some more fun!
