Well boys and gals, this semester has gotten off to a bang. Falling slight short of expectations last semester, I am back on track and have a full plate to boot.
Along with continuing my IT education, I have also begun jamming with a new band tentatively called "Blue Monkey Vomit". I am playing with a bunch of great musicians out of Fredericksburg and the few rehearsals we have had are very, very promising. We are just a cover band at the moment and we just doing this for fun, nothing serious. The music is from all over different groups, including the following: The Allman Brothers, The Kinks, Neil Young and The Black Crowes. Keep checking for updates on when the first gig is.
Also on the books, last winter I was asked to be a groomsman for two dear friends, Christina and Brent Wells, who were married this past January. As a result, during the picture session, the photographer as Brent and Myself to be a part of a fashion show for Men's Warehouse. So hopefully my modeling career (that I have invested so much time into) will be taking off, rofl!
Other than that I plan on seeing the Grateful Dead in April (with
the outstanding Mr. Warren Haynes stepping in for lead guitar
duties) down in North Carolina at Greensboro Coliseum. And then
there is the Graves Mountain Lodge Bluegrass Festival in June (I
believe).
Also, one of my favorite bands PHISH, just recently got back together and announced some tour dates this summer, although I will have to regretfully will not be attending.
So, other than rating on some of the things that I am interested in (I think we all have learned that about each other), I have just listed some the goings ons in the Viva de Wes. Good luck to everyone this semester and drop me a line, anytime.
